Turning Learning into Action

Through coordinated Global Action Days, GCC Leaders translate their learning into action. These days coincide with the internationally recognized events and build momentum for broader poverty fighting campaigns. 

In the 2006-2007 school year Global Action Days included:

• World Food Day (October)  
• World AIDS Day (December)
• Global Action Project - issue of choice (February)
• Global Campaign for Education (April)

Since 2004, GCC Leaders have had tremendous impact —at home and in the field:

• Generating Awareness: Over 150,000 peers reached with educational activities
• Raising Funds: Tens of thousands of dollars raised to support poverty alleviation in the field
• Advocating for Change: Thousands of signatures to pressure leaders to support good development policies and practices.
• Using the Media: Dozens of media placements in local, regional and national press to spread the word
